In charge of team building and provides technical leadership for CNC process and fixture design. Drives the strategy, and development of the business’s site solutions. Develops and implements engineering strategies meant for the development of technological tools and processes required. Perform engineering design evaluations and ensure the completion within resource and budget. Manage a team of engineers who will support various aspects of the tooling design/fabrication to improve manufacturing processes, process capability, process maturity, product cost, and product efficiency. Responsible in the manufacturing environment to develop and maintain day-to-day activities in CNC Areas and supervision of the staff involved in machining the product efficiently, and tool fabrication to the highest quality to meet our customers' expectations. Responsible for assuring that the department staff have the tools, technical information, material, all requirements, training, and resources needed to perform the functions of the daily job. Work in a team environment to identify and solve problems, document root cause, and corrective actions, submit reports and results to department manager and management, and submit presentations and recommendations on how to reduce scrap and improve process stability. Continuous improvement: use data driven approach to implement improvements in the manufacturing areas for process stabilization, repeatability, control, efficiencies of labor, and time and cost reduction in scrap and rework. Implement new tooling, jigs, and fixture designs into the manufacturing process to eliminate waste, reduce scrap, and improve efficiency. Manage and update tooling procedures to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards. Introduce alternate methods & technology to simplify and make certain processes more efficient. *Support new program tooling cost estimates and NPI activities. Plan, allocate resources, and direct activities to meet schedules, standards, and costs.

Experiencia y requisitos

  • 7-10 years related experience Skills and Knowledge:
  • Must have experience with CATIA V5 and SolidWorks.
  • Must possess knowledge of CMM & GD&T principals, materials, material strengths, and uses & heat treatment methods for tool fabrication.
  • The ability to lead Tooling Engineers and tool shop in critical/urgent matters.
  • Knowledge to Introduce new material, processes, methods, techniques, and equipment to improve tooling capabilities.
