Business Unit Manager

(70%) Responsible for multiple manufacturing departments which includes: • Ensuring safety is part of our culture by making safety audits, safety communications, safety expectations, ergonomics, and awareness as a top priority. A key partner in making this happen will be the site Safety and Environmental Engineer. • Effective leadership of multiple supervisors, line leaders and all factory associates that report to their leadership team. • Provide daily managerial support/direction to manufacturing areas. • Review all capital expenditure requests and monitor their compliance with both budget and ROR. • Establish and monitor performance goals and assure they are being met. • Review financial information/reports and direct cause/effect actions in operations. • Train, coach, mentor, motivate and develop their leadership team. • Assist/lead the development and implementation of operational/lean initiatives and objectives. • Participate in establishing budgets and forecast/capacity planning. • Associates engagement. • Ensuring Quality metrics (Teaming, Training Plan, Quality) 5S and Action Planning are part of everyday operations. • Practice good informing skills to keep the plant manager and other peers updated on key issues and metrics. (30%) Will participate as a representative of the management team in: • Representing the facility at external meetings and conferences. • Working with vendors on quality and cost reduction issues. • Customer service liaison for high level customer issues. • Working with senior management to ensure initiatives are aligned with the company and plant objectives. • Participating in strategic planning activities.
