Manufacturing Fiber Optic Engineer to oversee the production, testing, and quality assurance of fiber optic components and systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in fiber optic cable manufacturing, process optimization, and quality control to ensure high-performance and cost-effective production.
- Design, develop, and optimize fiber optic manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and product quality.
- Oversee the production of fiber optic cables, connectors, splicing units, and related components.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ITU-T, TIA/EIA, IEC).
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing defects, process inefficiencies, and equipment issues.
- Work closely with R&D, production teams, and suppliers to develop and implement new fiber optic technologies.
- Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective actions for production-related issues.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process control plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in the production facility.
- Train and support manufacturing personnel on fiber optic processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality raw materials and components.
Experiencia y requisitos
• BS degree in Mechanical, Electronics or Industrial Engineering.
• 80% English.
• 5+ year of experience in cables and harness
- Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, IPC-7711/7721, or fiber optic manufacturing standards.
- Experience with automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 in fiber optic production.
- Knowledge of ERP/MES systems and manufacturing data analysis tools.
- Green Belt (preferable)
- Experience in fiber optic manufacturing, process engineering, or optical component production.
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic materials, coatings, connectors.
- Hands-on experience with fiber drawing, polishing, fusion splicing, and automated assembly.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to operate and interpret data from OTDR, interferometers, spectrometers, and other fiber testing
equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to improve manufacturing yield and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
