  PURPOSE OF POSITION


This position will lead Safety and Environmental initiatives regionally to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement of safety and environmental metrics including, accident investigation, workers compensation, electrical safety, machine guarding, chemical management, environmental reporting and hazardous waste activities. 


   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

          

  • Lead, coordinate and ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental program requirements 
  • Manage environmental permits, certifications and registrations (NPDES, Storm water, Air, Wastewater, Hazardous Waste)
  • Submit required EHS reports         
  • Champion waste reduction initiatives       
  • Implement industrial hygiene and safety engineering into manufacturing processes
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities  
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans using RBS tools 
  • Lead and coordinate Safety, Environmental and Risk Management activities        

           Drive safety and environmental improvements utilizing Safety Committee’s

           Determine and implement required and proactive EHS training

          Assure compliance with property insurance recommendations 

          Write and update required programs including: Confined Space, Haz Com, Hearing Conservation, Fork truck, Machine Guarding, Emergency, Blood borne Pathogen, Crane, Respiratory Protection, PPE

         Develop and report safety and environmental metrics   

         Conduct audits and implement action plans

        Manage Information Technology resources, equipment and systems for Tijuana users                

  • Lead, coordinate and ensure all facilities resources and equipment need it for the plant 

Experiencia y requisitos

 REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  

Education - Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environment or Engineering

Experience – Minimum of five years in an EHS environment (metal-mechanic industry preferred)

Fluent in both written and verbal communication in Spanish and English.     

Experience with LQG, Air

Permit, storm water Permit   

Post Closure

Care Permit experience

Safety Designations (ASP, CSP, CHMM or equivalent)

NC Wastewater license
